How to Sidechain | Logic Pro X Sidechain Compression Tutorial

When it comes to music production, a lot of people tend to ask questions like:

""How do you make your kicks hit harder?"" or ""How do I get that pumping sound?""

The answer, Sidechain Compression. In this video I am going to be showing you how to sidechain using the stock Logic Pro X compressor, sidechaining my main chords/melody to a kick. The concept is quite simple but sometimes can seem a bit difficult for beginners or people just starting out. Essentially, sidechain is compressing one audio signal by using the trigger of another, this is what achieves that ""pumping"" effect or makes kick drums really punch through the mix. Although I am using LPX, the concepts in this video can be applied to any DAW such as: Ableton Live, FL Studio, Pro Tools, Cubase, Reason, etc...
